Happy Ballet Day ~ February 7

Today is Ballet Day. It was virtually impossible to find any information as to why today is Ballet Day, but ballet is a beautiful form of art expression and certainly deserves to have a special day of recognition.

Many little girls dream of being a ballerina, and many little girls love dressing up in frilly ballerina tutus. Here are some examples of the adorable, no sew tutus out there that you could whip up for your daughter or granddaughter.

Tutorials from:
Jane-The Domestic Goddess - Very pretty
Simply Designing - This one uses ribbon. So cute!
The Ribbon Retreat - This one uses a different method of knot tying than most. It makes them a little fluffier.
My Creative Way - How to make hearts out of ribbon for your tutu.
Pink Polka Dot Creations - This tutu is made using a child's elastic headband. Nifty!

It looks like these kids are having lots of fun at their ballet class.

Hoo-eee, it's Groundhog Day! Punxsutawney Phil did indeed see his shadow this morning forecasting another six weeks of winter, whereas, Staten Island Chuck did not see his shadow this morning, meaning a mild winter and early spring are on their way. I guess only time will tell! Happy Groundhog Day! Oh, and Happy Hedgehog Day as well!
