National Chocolate Covered Raisins Day is celebrated every year on March 24th. Chocolate covered raisins are a fairly "good for you" snack. Raisins are a good source of fiber, potassium, iron, calcium, and certain B vitamins. They are also low in fat and cholesterol and contain antioxidants. If you were to eat raisins covered in dark chocolate they'd be even better for you since research has found that eating a small amount of dark chocolate each day is good for your heart.
Just for fun, why don't we watch a gecko lizard licking a chocolate covered raisin?
Hi, My name is Lisa. I am a mother of 7 wonderful sons, and a "tickled pink to be" grandmother of 6 delightful grandchildren. I know besides pleasing their parents in every way and being great students in school, kids just wanna have fun! But I'm pretty willing to bet most kids don't know that along with the big holidays like Halloween and Christmas, there are exciting things to celebrate every day of the year! Here at Kids Love Holidays, we'll make discoveries of all that we've been missing. So let's have some fun!
